The central government has increased the price of petrol and diesel by three rupees per liter today.
New Delhi. Congress on Friday targeted the central government over the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel and claimed that it is bound to increase inflation. This will also lead to decline in economic growth rate. Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that when the price of crude oil was low in the international market, instead of providing relief to the consumers, the Modi government looted them. Government oil companies on Friday revised the prices of petrol and diesel after a long gap of four years, increasing the prices of both the fuels by Rs 3 per litre.
According to sources, the price of petrol in the national capital Delhi has increased from Rs 94.77 per liter to Rs 97.77 per liter. Ramesh posted on But this did not happen and consumers were looted.
He said that now when international oil prices are rising due to the war waged in West Asia by the Prime Minister’s close friends America and Israel and the assembly elections are also over, the Modi government, after first increasing the prices of commercial LPG, has now increased the prices of petrol and diesel also. He claimed that this is bound to increase inflation further, which is now estimated to reach around six percent in this financial year. Ramesh said that the growth rate estimates will also be reduced significantly.
