India’s mega corporations are looking for ways to tell their stories better and are turning to the storytellers they love—Bollywood—for help. When the Bajaj family marked 100 years of the business house at a glittering event in Mumbai recently, they premiered a short, humorous film on the group’s legacy, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The group’s founder Jamnalal Bajaj’s friendship with Mahatma Gandhi was home turf for Hirani, who had used Bapu as an important motif in his hit Munnabhai series. But the big premier expected soon is of a film on the biggest business family of them all, made by an award-winning production house. It apparently offers viewers a glimpse into the ambitious scale and expanse of the group’s wide-ranging efforts.
