Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) pacer Akash Maharaj Singh made a stunning impact, playing his first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday, May 15.
Against his former side, Chennai Super Kings, Maharaj shared the new ball with Mohammed Shami and dismissed the top three batters - Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, and Urvil Patel.
After picking up the wicket of Gaikwad in the fourth over, he pulled out a handwritten note from his pocket. The note read: “#Akki on fire - Akash knows how to take wickets in T20 game”. The crowd erupted, and the moment quickly went viral on social media.
The left-arm seamer didn't stop with that, as he went on to dismiss Samson and Urvil, the two batters in form for the Men in Yellow this season. He pulled out the same note after these dismissals as well. LSG skipper Rishabh Pant gave him four overs on the trot, and he finished with stunning figures of 3/26 in four overs.
