After two consecutive ducks in the ongoing IPL 2026 edition, Virat Kohli stunned everyone with a brilliant century against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday, May 13. The legendary RCB batter remained unbeaten on 105 runs in just 60 deliveries, smashing every record with his 9th IPL century. His match-winning knock featured 11 boundaries and three sixes.
While the modern T20 cricket fantasizes about the hard-hitting skills, the former RCB skipper showcased his energy for running between the wickets. His innings were full of energy, glorious sixes, and some playful banter from the legend himself. During the 192-run chase, Kohli kept his nerve calm and just played out like he has been doing throughout the year. He loves playing under pressure; he utilised it yet again.
While Kohli has been trending on social media for his blistering century, he has been in the limelight for one more incident. The former Indian skipper was involved in a funny banter with his former Under-19 teammate Manish Pandey during the run chase. One funny moment has been going viral on social media, where Virat Kohli was captured in the stump mic, where he was playfully teasing Pandey that he can play all shots now, as he does not play T20 cricket for the national team.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli achieved several milestones during the run chase. He became the first indian batter to score 10 T20 centuries. He also became the fastest batter in cricket history to complete 14,000 runs in the shorter format of the game. With his 279th IPL match, Kohli also became the player with the most matches in the tournament’s history, surpassing both MS Dhoni (278) and Rohit Sharma (278).
