Vaibhav Sooryavanshi named in India A squad for Sri Lanka tour

Mumbai: Fifteen-year-old batting sensation and Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has earned his first call-up to the India A team after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

India A will take part in a tri-nation ODI series featuring Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. The tournament is scheduled to begin on June 9 and conclude on June 21.

Following the limited-overs tri-series, India A will also play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A. The BCCI said the squad for the red-ball matches will be announced later.

The white-ball matches will be held in Dambulla, while the multi-day games are scheduled in Galle.

Tilak Varma has been named captain of the side, while Riyan Parag will serve as vice-captain. Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra have been included as wicketkeepers in the squad.
