Video: “Wanted to retire at 50” said actor Dileep Raj, passed away at 47

Bengaluru: The Kannada film industry has lost a talented actor, producer and director Dileep Raj, who passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 47, leaving fans and colleagues in shock.

Following his demise, last rites were performed in accordance with Lingayat traditions at his farmhouse near Ramanagara in the presence of family members, friends and admirers.

After his death, an old interview of Dileep Raj has gone viral on social media, where he had spoken about life, success and retirement plans.

“Life cannot be pre-planned,” he had said

In an interview with “Rapidrashmi” YouTube channel, Dileep Raj had said that life cannot be fixed according to personal plans and it keeps changing continuously. He had added that adapting to change is an important part of life.

He had also spoken about financial struggles in earlier days, stating that he had seen days without even Rs 1,000 and that his wife Vidya had witnessed both struggles and success.

He said that over time, money had lost its importance in his life and that he valued people, relationships and love more than wealth.

Retirement plan at 50

In the same interview, Dileep Raj had revealed that he was 46 years old at the time and had planned to retire from production work at the age of 50.

He had expressed a desire to stop production activities and continue acting throughout his life, saying he wanted to remain active in cinema as long as possible.
