Here is the latest update on the new transfer policy for the year 2026 for the government employees of Madhya Pradesh. It is reported that the General Administration Department (GAD) has prepared a draft of the new policy, which can be brought for approval in the next cabinet meeting. If sources are to be believed, in the cabinet meeting held on Monday (11 May 2026), Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has instructed the officials of the General Administration Department to bring the proposal in the next cabinet.
It is believed that the ban on transfers can be lifted from 20-25 May 2026. This relaxation can be given for about a month, so that the transfer process can be completed by the end of June. In the new transfer, the school education department will be kept separate, because a separate policy will be issued for it.
It is reported that in the new policy the limit on transfers on voluntary basis may be removed. Like last time, ministers in-charge of districts can be given the right to transfer officers. Under this, no district level transfer list can be issued without the green signal and consent of the Minister in-charge. Whereas departmental transfers can be done through the ministers of the concerned departments. However, transfers of Class III and IV employees will first be proposed at the Collector level, after which the further process will be completed.
In the new policy, priority can be given to transfer on other grounds including serious illness, administrative, voluntary etc. Its benefit will also be available to those officers and employees who have been posted at the same place for a long time or want to be posted in their home assembly or tehsil. The guidelines and timetable will be officially released by the state government as soon as the policy gets the green signal from the Cabinet.
