Kishwar’s father is a five-time namazi.
Talking about her life’s journey, Kishwar Merchantt told that when she first started her relationship with Suyyash Rai, her biggest worry was how his family would react to it. His father is a devout Muslim who offers namaz five times a day and strictly follows religious rituals. Therefore, Kishwar feared that their relationship might not be accepted easily.
But, as time passed, his family accepted Suyyash wholeheartedly. Kishwar told that he and Suyyash together decided that they would marry neither as per Muslim customs nor as per Hindu customs. For this reason, they decided to have a court marriage, so that neither the sentiments of any family nor any relative would be hurt. For any successful relationship, mutual respect is more important than religion. This is the reason why their relationship remains strong even after so many years of marriage.
Questions raised on the upbringing of son, Nirvair
Talking about his son, Nirvair, Kishwar revealed that he has had a keen interest in Hindu deities and mythology since a very young age. He loves listening to the stories of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva, and he narrates these stories to his maternal grandfather with great enthusiasm. His father himself never set foot in the temple; Still, he listens to his grandson’s stories with great love. He stressed that there was never any coercion or imposed rules regarding religion in his house.
Social media trolled little Nirveer
But, social media users did not spare even little Nirvair. When she posted a photo of her child wearing a skullcap, some people commented that she should teach him to say Assalamu Alaikum instead. Expressing her displeasure over this, Kishwar said that her son is first and foremost a human being, and she wants to inculcate in him the qualities of humanity rather than hatred.
Love story of Kishwar and her husband Suyash
The love story of Kishwar and Suyyash has also been quite interesting. There is an age difference of about eight years between the two. Kishwar humorously told that initially he suspected that Suyyash was lying about his age. However, when they saw his passport the truth came out. He admitted that seeing such a huge age difference, he doubted whether this relationship would last for a long time. Both of them were separated for some time, but after just three days they came together again. At that very moment they decided to maintain their relationship with complete honesty and truth.
Kishwar also told that initially Suyyash’s mother had some concerns about the fact that Kishwar is a Muslim and is older than her son. However, as time passed, the family accepted this relationship wholeheartedly. After tying the knot in 2016, the couple is now living a happy life; Their son, Nirvair, was born in 2021.
