A British-based delivery firm has collapsed into administration.
Eagle One Delivery Limited is a logistics company based at Appleton Thorn Trading Estate in Warrington, specialising in worldwide freight transport. It has officially entered administration after just six years of trading.
The business established its operations around international transport, freight forwarding, shipping, warehousing and storage services following its launch in 2020. The firm appointed administrator Situl Devji Raithatha of Springfields Advisory LLP on April 16. It remains unclear whether any positions are at risk following the administration.
It follows a wave of businesses entering administration or liquidation in the UK in recent months. As many as 65 companies filed notices this month alone according to The Gazette, the Express reports. The Gazette is the UK's official public record for legal and government notices.
Loughton Tyres, based in Essex, appointed liquidators earlier this month. The car tyre garage was originally registered back in December 1987 and established a solid reputation in the local community, receiving dozens of five-star reviews on Google.
Resolutions to wind up the company took effect on April 2, with creditors notified and liquidators appointed on the same day. The London Gazette published the notice on the evening of April 15, with Ninos Koumettou and Constantinos Pedhiou named as joint liquidators. Loughton Tyres has been operating from Loughton Seedbed Centre, Langston Road.
The company arranged journeys throughout the UK and Europe, including to Disneyland Paris and major sporting fixtures. It attributed financial pressures as the cause for shutting down.
Gold Crest Holidays, which also traded under the names Advent, Advent Tours and Overseas Dream Weddings, confirmed all forthcoming departures would be scrapped and that the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) would handle reimbursements.
Amongst the five-star reviews on Google, Kate Nelson said: "I was lucky, thought I had a puncture because of a nail in tyre but didn't. The guys were super helpful and polite from my initial call to getting the nail out. Def recommend."
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Gold Crest Holidays, situated in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, announced it had ceased trading after more than three decades. The family-run coach tour operator expressed being "deeply saddened" to have gone into liquidation.
The company explained the decision followed the "severe" consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, alterations to crucial business arrangements and a difficult trading climate fuelled by rapidly rising costs.
The firm revealed on its website in January that it had ceased operations. The business also expressed gratitude to customers, travel agents, suppliers and staff for their dedication throughout the years.
