Punjab looked in complete control for most of the innings. Delhi’s overseas pace attack struggled badly during the powerplay overs. Mitchell Starc endured a difficult outing, conceding 57 runs in his spell, including 22 runs in his very first over. Lungi Ngidi also proved expensive as Punjab’s batters attacked aggressively from the start.

However, Delhi found some relief through their Indian pace bowlers. Mukesh Kumar and young Madhav Tiwari picked up three wickets each and prevented Punjab from crossing the 230-run mark. Even after both Axar and Miller were dismissed, Delhi continued attacking. Impact substitute Ashutosh Sharma played a fiery cameo of 24 runs off just 10 balls, while young Madhav Tiwari contributed a valuable 18 from 8 deliveries to seal the victory in the final overs.
