Right-hand batter Shreyas Iyer produced an outrageous one-handed six against Lungi Ngidi during the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, match 55 in IPL 2026. The PBKS skipper produced a moment of sheer improvisation that instantly became one of the standout shots of the season.
Facing a well-disguised slower delivery from Ngidi, Iyer was completely deceived by the lack of pace. The ball arrived much later than expected, and for a moment, it looked like he had mistimed the stroke badly.
However, the right-hander showcased exceptional timing and strokeplay to adjust to the length of the ball at the very last second. Despite losing his bottom hand during the shot, Iyer somehow managed to send the ball over mid-off and clear the ropes with ease.
What made the stroke even more special was the timing and control despite being beaten in flight and pace. It was a shot that combined instinct and balance.
