The controversial posters put up in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh regarding Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav have created a stir in the politics of the state. On Saturday, some unknown people put up hoardings in Bangla Bazaar and Old Jail Road area of the capital, in which Akhilesh Yadav was described as ‘Katiyabaaz’. As soon as the poster came out, discussion started in the area and within a few hours its pictures started going viral on social media. SP tore these posters.
In these posters, the previous Samajwadi Party government has been accused of discrimination in electricity supply and indulging in appeasement politics. Besides, the names of SP leader Azam Khan and Sambhal MP Zia ur Rehman Burke have also been included in the posters. An attempt has been made to target the opposition by using cuttings of some old media reports in the posters.
Posters went viral rapidly on social media
Pictures of the controversial hoardings are being shared rapidly on social media. Some posters read, ‘Full electricity in Ramzan, blackout in Diwali.’ Through this slogan, the Samajwadi Party government has been accused of benefiting a particular class. Discussions regarding the posters have intensified in political circles.
At present it is not clear who put up these posters. Neither any organization has claimed responsibility nor has the police confirmed the identity of any accused. However, political experts are considering this as a strategy of the opposition parties. The police have also become alert after the matter came to light.
Till now no official statement has been issued by Samajwadi Party on this matter. At the same time, no major action has been taken from the administration side. The way this issue is being raised on social media and political forums, it is believed that this matter may gain more importance in the coming days.
