The swearing-in ceremony took place in Chennai, attended by various politicians, celebrities, and dignitaries. Following the event, Vijay's father, veteran actor-director SA Chandrasekhar, shared his emotions with the press, expressing pride in his son's achievement. He reminisced about the day Vijay was born in 1974, reflecting on their humble beginnings.

After the ceremony, SA Chandrasekhar spoke to the media, visibly proud of his son. When asked about his feelings, he stated, “What more can I ask for? My son has fulfilled my dream.” He recounted the struggles he faced when Vijay was born, highlighting that he had little to his name at that time and was working as a supporting actor in films. Vijay acknowledged his father's hardships in his inaugural speech as the state's leader.
