In a remarkable display during the IPL 2026 match between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, Josh Inglis made history. At Chepauk, he unleashed a stunning batting performance, scoring 77 runs off just 25 balls during the powerplay. This achievement marks the highest score by any batsman in the powerplay for Lucknow Super Giants in their four-year IPL history.
Inglis surpassed the previous record held by his teammate Mitchell Marsh, who scored 60 runs during the powerplay against Mumbai Indians on April 4. With this performance, Inglis now ranks fourth on the list of the highest runs scored in the powerplay in IPL history, trailing only behind Suresh Raina, Travis Head, and Jake Fraser-McGurk.
