Under the Nishchay Scheme in Raipur Central Jail and Women's Jail, prisoners are being provided assistance for skill development training, computer education and self-employment. Certificates were distributed to 67 prisoners and a loan fair will be organized on 13th May.
Raipur. Under the ambitious Nishchay scheme of Chhattisgarh government, a special function was organized in Central Jail and Women's Jail Raipur. The objective of this program is to distance the young prisoners from the world of crime and move them towards a self-reliant and respectable life. Nishchay program is being run in all the jails of Chhattisgarh. Its main goal is to prevent young prisoners from going back to crime and to connect them with the mainstream of society.

Counseling and self-employment training being given to prisoners
Under this scheme, prisoners are being given psychological counselling, understanding of guilt, and employment based skills training. Besides, loan facility will also be provided through banks to start self-employment after release. This program is being conducted under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma and with the cooperation of Chief Minister Secretary Rahul Bhagat.
67 prisoners received skill development certificates
During the function, skill development certificates were distributed to a total of 67 prisoners who completed the training. These include 38 female prisoners and 29 male prisoners. The jail administration believes that with this type of training, the prisoners will get better opportunities for employment and self-employment after release.
Computer training center started in Raipur Central Jail
With the aim of promoting digital education, a computer training center was launched in Central Jail Raipur. Now prisoners will be able to get basic and advanced computer training within the jail premises. This initiative will increase the digital knowledge of the prisoners and will also increase job or business opportunities after release.
Indian Overseas Bank will organize loan fair
To make the prisoners financially self-reliant, a loan fair will be organized by Indian Overseas Bank in the Central Jail complex on 13 May 2026. The objective of this loan fair is to provide easy loans to the released prisoners to start self-employment, so that they can start a new life with respect in the society.
Senior officials of the jail administration were present in the program
Many officers and employees of the jail administration including Himanshu Gupta, Yogesh Singh Kshatri and Garima Pandey were present on the occasion.
