TVK MLA N. Mary Wilson, speaking to IANS, said that the people of Tamil Nadu are very happy to see their son and brother as the Chief Minister. He said that the public was waiting for this moment for the last three years.
He also informed that Chief Minister Vijay has announced the release of a white paper on the financial and administrative situation of the state, which he termed as a historic step.
Vijay’s close associates and family members also described the occasion as an emotional moment. Vijay’s friend Sanjay said that this is more than a happy emotional moment and he had tears of joy in his eyes.
Recalling his son’s struggles, Vijay’s father and renowned film director SA Chandrashekhar said that when Vijay was born, they were going through financial difficulties. He said that Vijay saw struggle since childhood and always moved forward on the basis of hard work.
Vijay also got full support from the film industry. The producer of his last film ‘Jannanayakan’ was Venkat K. Narayan said that a new era will begin in Tamil Nadu under Vijay’s leadership and he will fulfill all his promises. Actress Sangeeta also congratulated him and called it the beginning of good times for the state.
Vijay government is also getting support at the political level. Congress leader Girish Chodankar said that Rahul Gandhi came especially to attend the swearing-in ceremony and the Congress will work with this government to fulfill the promises made to the public. Film producer V. Natarajan expressed hope that Vijay will give a corruption-free government to the state.
