Thalapathy Vijay is poised to be inaugurated as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, marking his significant entry into the political arena. His party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has garnered crucial support to surpass the 118-seat majority threshold in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, concluding a period of uncertainty regarding the state's governance. Following this remarkable victory, his cousin, actor Vikranth Santhosh, shared his thoughts in an exclusive interview, expressing pride in his brother's new position and highlighting it as a moment of family honor.
Vikranth's Joy Over Vijay's New Role as Chief Minister
Vikranth conveyed his excitement about Vijay’s appointment, stating, “Words cannot express how proud we are as a family. We are thrilled by the affection the public has shown him. For over 35 years, he has received immense love, and I believe this will continue. I am confident he will prioritize the welfare of Tamil Nadu's citizens. The entire state is praying for his success.”
Reflecting on their childhood, Vikranth reminisced, “Our early years were wonderful, but once Anna entered the film industry and experienced success, he began to understand the love people have for him... that was the moment he decided to give back.”
After participating in the elections in April, Vikranth publicly supported Vijay by sharing an image of a yellow whistle, which is a nod to a popular song from The GOAT and also serves as TVK’s election symbol. As soon as Vijay’s party gained momentum, he celebrated the news on his Instagram stories with fire emojis. He also re-shared a photo of the actor-politician in his signature white shirt and tan trousers, originally posted by his wife, actress Maanasa, with the caption 'Vijay wave.'
