Singer Jaspinder Narula has recently talked about her close friendship with Boney Kapoor’s first wife and Arjun Kapoor’s mother Mona Shourie Kapoor.

She further recalled the heart-breaking moment when Mona found out about her husband Boney’s affair with Sridevi.

In an interview with Bollywood Thikana, Jaspinder Narula talked about the time she recorded the Judaai song “Mujhe Ek Pal Chain Na Aaye”.

She stated, “They told me the song was being picturised on Sridevi. They explained the situation in the film — how she gets Anil Kapoor married again because she takes money.”

She further revealed how she recorded the song despite suffering from ear infection at that time, “My ear had developed mucus and one of my ears was completely blocked. With great difficulty, I sang the song.”

Jaspinder also talked about her brief interaction with Sridevi, “I met Sridevi two or three times”.

Jaspinder then revealed that after the song she became close friends with Mona and years later she told her about how she broke down outside the studio when the singer was recording the song and the reason was Sridevi affair with her husband Boney Kapoor.

She recalled, “I was very close to Mona Kapoor. Later, she told me what was happening at that time while I was recording the song. Someone’s home was being built while someone else’s was breaking.”

And added, “She told me, ‘You were singing inside, and I was crying outside, sitting on the stairs of Super Sound (studio) when I found out.’ It was around the same time that she came to know about everything. This is what she shared with me.”

Boney Kapoor married Mona Shourie in 1983, and they have two kids together – actor Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor.

They divorced in 1996 and Boney married Sridevi in the same year. And became parents to Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
