Lucknow Super Giants finally ended their home win drought and registered a thriller against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026. The match between LSG and RCB in the Ekana Stadium also saw an unsavoury incident outside the ground.
As per a PTI report, the police has apprehended four people who were allegedly creating and selling counterfeit IPL match tickets using AI tools outside the stadium on Thursday when the match between LSG and RCB was underway. The duo were seen touting their fake tickets outside the stadium gates just before the match commenced.
Police stated that they are using tools like AI and ChatGPT to make fake IPL match tickets. They were reportedly using graphic software along with the AI tools and then selling the counterfeit tickets to fans outside the venue.

LSG Keep Playoff Hopes Alive
Besides the drama on the ground Lucknow Super Giants also produced a stellar performance and are still alive for the playoff berths.
LSG defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by nine runs (DLS method) in a rain-interrupted game at the Ekana Stadium which was reduced to 19 overs per side after multiple rain delays.
Mitchell Marsh was the star for Lucknow as he played an exceptional knock of 111 runs in just 56 balls with great hitting all around the ground and helped LSG reach a score of 209/3. Skipper Rishabh Pant also joined the party and was the highest scorer in the latter half of the innings with an unbeaten 32 off just 10 deliveries.
RCB received the worst possible start to their chase as they lost their star batter Virat Kohli in the first over for a duck and Jacob Bethell also departed soon. Prince Yadav picked up an impressive 3 wickets at the cost of 33 runs. Despite a brilliant fightback by Rajat Patidar and later by the power hitters Tim David, Romario Shepherd and Krunal Pandya, RCB could not finish the chase. Digvesh Rathi maintained his composure in the final over to register LSG's first win at their home ground in IPL 2026.
The win also brought an end to LSG's six-match losing streak and breathed fresh life into their playoff quest.
