A lucky breakthrough was handed to Delhi Capitals during their IPL 2026 encounter with Kolkata Knight Riders after Angkrish Raghuvanshi was involved in a freak dismissal in the second delivery that saw him back to the pavilion from the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
While chasing a target of 143, KKR were 31/2 in the fourth over of the innings, which is when Raghuvanshi fell victim to Axar Patel in the most unusual manner. The young batter had played a shot for a sweep shot against a full delivery targeting his pads but the ball brushed against his gloves before slowly rolling onto his stumps.
It was a slow motion dismissal and the batter had no idea where the ball was until it dislodged the stumps as Raghuvanshi struggled to balance himself so as not to get stumped.

Raghuvanshi Falls Early Despite Good IPL Form
Having managed to score a single in 3 deliveries from Axar Patel, Raghuvanshi was sent back to the pavilion. This was an unlucky fall for KKR as the youngster had been one of their more reliable batters so far this season.
Before the game against DC, the youngster had scored 268 runs in 10 games in IPL 2026 at a strike rate of 136.73 with an average of 33.50. Raghuvanshi also had three scores of 50+ to his name in the ongoing edition of the tournament.
His wicket meant that the 31/2 in 3.5 overs meant KKR were struggling to score runs against Delhi Capitals after skipper Ajinkya Rahane had already been run out early on.
KKR Continue Chase After Early Blow
With six overs down and KKR on 43 for the loss of 2 with Finn Allen 20 not out from 17 balls while Cameron Green is 9 not out from 7 deliveries.
KKR still needed 100 from 84 balls at this point of the chase and were doing well.
Rahane was 13 off nine balls before being a victim of unlucky run out by Mitchell Starc. The spell of Axar Patel was significant for Delhi in the power play finishing with his first 3 overs 1-23. The wicket of Raghuvanshi had swung momentum a little to Delhi Capitals who would be aiming to defend their small total at a crucial time in the playoff chase.
