Administration is fully alert to deal with possible drought, all departments should complete preparations on time – Chief Development Officer

Under the direction of District Magistrate Charcha Gaur, an important meeting was organized in the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi regarding effectively dealing with the possible drought situation and preparing a drought relief action plan. While reviewing the preparations of various departments in the meeting, necessary guidelines were given to the concerned officers.

The Chief Development Officer said during the meeting that as per the intention of the government, all the departments associated with the drought relief scheme should complete their preparations in a timely and effective manner, so that immediate relief can be provided in case of any emergency situation in the district. Giving top priority to water conservation, he directed that arrangements should be made to fill adequate quantity of water in ponds, ponds and other water sources.

Besides, alternative arrangements should also be prepared in time to provide pure drinking water to the common people in rural and urban areas. He directed the Health Department to conduct a comprehensive public awareness campaign to prevent diseases caused by heat and contaminated water. Availability of essential medicines, ORS, drinking water testing kits and other necessary resources should be ensured at medical centers so that the general public can get prompt health facilities.

In the meeting, the Irrigation Department was directed to maintain the water supply system smoothly during the operation of the canals and prepare an action plan to supply water to the ponds and reservoirs as per the requirement, so that the farmers do not have to face irrigation problems.

On this occasion, Additional District Magistrate V/R Vagish Kumar Shukla directed the officials of the Electricity Department and said that uninterrupted power supply should be ensured as per the prescribed roster. He said that electricity complaints should be resolved quickly and the general public should not face any kind of inconvenience during the summer season. District level officers of all concerned departments were present in the meeting.
