CIL Vacancy 2026: Coal India Limited has released the notification for the Management Trainee (Mining) recruitment for 2026. Under this recruitment drive, a total of 276 vacancies will be filled. Candidates who have completed their studies in Mining Engineering and have qualified in GATE-2025 can apply online by visiting the official website, coalindia.in, between May 8, 2026, and June 7, 2026. This recruitment will be conducted entirely based on GATE-2025 scores; that is, there will be no separate written examination.
A total of 276 vacancies have been declared for the Mining post, out of which 114 posts are reserved for the General (UR) category, 27 for EWS, 41 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 20 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 74 for candidates belonging to the OBC (NCL) category.

**Key Eligibility Criteria for Application**
For the post of Management Trainee (Mining), it is mandatory for candidates to possess a degree in Mining Engineering. This degree must be obtained as a full-time, regular course from a recognized university or institution. A minimum aggregate score of 60% marks is required for candidates belonging to the General, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS categories, whereas candidates from the SC/ST categories are granted a relaxation of 5%, meaning they are eligible to apply with a minimum of 55% marks.

In cases where a candidate's academic scores are represented in CGPA, GPA, or CPI formats, they are required to submit a certificate validating the conversion of these scores into percentages. **Application Fee Details**
Regarding the application fee, candidates belonging to the General (UR), OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS categories are required to pay a total fee of ₹1,180 (comprising ₹1,000 plus 18% GST). Conversely, for candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories, the application process is entirely free of cost. Furthermore, employees currently working within Coal India Limited and its subsidiary companies are also exempted from paying the application fee.
**Selection Process**
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must have qualified in GATE-2025. Initially, candidates will be shortlisted based on their GATE-2025 scores (in a ratio of 1:3 for each specific post). If two candidates secure identical scores, priority will be accorded to the candidate with a higher percentage of marks or the candidate who is older in age. The final merit list will be compiled exclusively based on GATE-2025 scores; only scores obtained in the current year will be considered valid.
Candidates currently employed in government organizations or Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) may apply, provided they submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or a Relieving Letter. The list of selected candidates will be published on the official website, following which they will be summoned for Document Verification (DV) and an Initial Medical Examination (IME). Final appointment orders will be issued only upon the successful completion of both these procedures.
