Mumbai: Mumbai Indians (MI) won by 6 wickets in the match played against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Wankhede Stadium on Monday. MI got the win at Wankhede after 4 consecutive defeats this season. This was MI’s biggest win while chasing the target. In the match, Suryakumar Yadav was captaining MI in place of Hardik Pandya. After the win, Suryakumar Yadav praised Ryan Rickleton and Rohit Sharma.
After the match, Suryakumar Yadav said, “This season, the team has been stuck in difficult situations many times. This situation was not new. In T20 cricket, the time after the powerplay—especially between 7 and 10 overs—is the most important to change the course of the match, and that is when the team planned to make a comeback. LSG was in a strong position at one time and at one time their score was around 110 in about 8-9 overs. After that, the bowlers took the responsibility and made our comeback. Got it done.”

Batting first, LSG scored 228 runs for 5 wickets with the help of Nicholas Pooran’s 63 runs off 21 balls. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton opened the innings for MI and while chasing the target of 229 runs, they made a partnership of 143 runs in 10.5 overs for the first wicket and turned the match completely in favor of the team.
Rickleton played an innings of 83 runs in 32 balls with the help of 8 sixes and 6 fours. Rohit Sharma played an inning of 84 runs in 44 balls with the help of 7 sixes and 6 fours. Naman Dheer remained unbeaten on 23 runs on 12 balls and Will Jacques remained unbeaten on 10 runs on 4 balls. Rickleton was player of the match.
