A UK college has been placed into lockdown, with students told to remain in classrooms. Kirklees College in Huddersfield said all of their centres are locked down after it "received information" this morning (May 7).
All college building are now locked up, with people urged to stay where they are and remain calm. Witnesses old Yorkshire LIVE that students have been locked up in classrooms. Kirklees College said in a statement: "Following advice from the police, all Kirklees College centres are now in a precautionary lockdown. If you are currently at one of our centres, please remain where you are. A member of staff will provide further instructions. If you have not yet travelled into college today, please do not make the journey. All centres are closed for the rest of the day. We will keep you updated as soon as we have further information." The Daily Express has contacted West Yorkshire Police and Kirklees College for further comment.
