In many places the old thinking still prevails that ‘get up and work’. Meaning, keep working continuously without stopping and without getting tired. Some companies believe that changing a tire should be done in the same way as driving a car at a speed of 80 miles per hour. But science proves this old thinking wrong. Science experts say that employees should be given the freedom to take short breaks whenever needed throughout the day. This is also beneficial for the company. These breaks refresh the mind. Even just a 5 to 10 minute break can bring significant improvement in mental health.

One hour break required

A new study called Solitaire Bliss has revealed that one out of every four workers in America takes a short break of at least an hour during work. The biggest reason for taking these breaks is to refresh the concentration (93% people say this). The good thing is that 56% of bosses and companies also encourage their employees to take such short breaks. 89% of employees take these breaks to reduce stress. More than half of employees say they feel more tired if they can’t take breaks.

How do you choose your favorite short breaks?

Microbreak can be any small activity in which your complete attention will be diverted from work. When you completely keep yourself away from work during these breaks, you feel refreshed.
