India launched Operation Sindur on May 7 last year to avenge Pahalgaon attack. On the anniversary, US military expert John Spencer praised India’s military capabilities. According to him, within 72 hours, the Indian Air Force occupied Pakistan’s airspace and bombarded the Pakistan Army. Operation Sindur proves India’s growing military capabilities.
Spencer said, initial reports were coming up that the Indian aircraft had been damaged. Pakistan is in an advantageous position. Ultimately though, India dominated the battlefield, even forcing Pakistan into a ceasefire. In Spencer’s words, “By the morning of 10 May, India had taken control of the airspace, while it was becoming increasingly difficult for Pakistan to continue operations.” Needless to say, this statement by the US military expert proved Pakistan’s lies. Because despite losing the war, Islamabad was claiming the opposite in front of the international media.
It is to be noted that on April 22, 26 unarmed people were killed in Pahelgaon by four militants of Lashkar’s shadow organization TRF. In response to this attack, India launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7. Nine militant bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were destroyed. Pakistan then launched attacks targeting populated areas and army bases in states bordering India. India countered that attack as well as retaliated. At least 11 air bases of Pakistan were destroyed. More than 100 militants and 35-40 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the Indian army operation. Finally, New Delhi agreed to a ceasefire at Islamabad’s request.
