The incident occurred within just 48 hours of the election results, raising serious questions over the political stability of the state. The incident occurred near Madhyamgram area at around 10 pm, when Rath was traveling in a government vehicle. Then the attackers blocked their way in a planned manner and opened fire from close range. Now CCTV footage of this incident has surfaced, which is quite shocking. Apart from this, the police has also considered it as a pre-planned incident.

Three days of dangerous conspiracy: from surveillance to ambush

Suspicion of sophisticated weapons and organized gang

Investigating agencies have found 9mm cartridge casings from the spot, which clearly shows that modern and automatic weapons were used in this attack. Police believe that at least three to four people were involved and it was a trained and organized attack. A senior officer said that this was not a mob violence, but a targeted killing, in which every step was pre-planned – blocking the road, laying siege and then quickly attacking and escaping.

CID investigation and growing shadow of political tension

The investigation of this high-profile murder has now been handed over to CID and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed. Police have received important CCTV footage and information about a suspicious vehicle, due to which the investigation is moving forward. This incident has happened at a time when political tension is already at its peak after the elections in the state. In the past years, incidents of political violence have been continuously reported in Bengal, but this time the method of murder is considered to be very well planned and professional.

The shadow of violence looms large over election victory.

Experts believe that this incident is not just a murder, but an indication of the changing nature of political violence - with targeted and planned killings replacing mob violence. As the investigation progresses, the case not only remains a political murder mystery but also leaves deep questions on power, security and law and order in the entire state.
