New Delhi: Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) drew 1-1 against Bayern Munich to qualify for the second consecutive UEFA Champions League (UCL) final, earning a 6-5 aggregate win after a compelling second leg at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Wednesday, May 6.
Ousmane Dembele scored the opening goal just after three minutes, while Bayern struggled against PSG’s defence until Harry Kane scored the equaliser in second-half stoppage time. The French club will face Arsenal on May 30 in the final.
Bayern Munich, hoping to qualify for their first Champions League final since 2020, saw their treble hopes dashed and can now only win the German Cup after the Bundesliga title this season.

PSG had a 5-4 advantage after a sensational first leg and got off to a perfect start when Dembele netted the opening goal from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s perfectly timed cutback. After conceding the goal, Bayern put pressure on PSG and went close to scoring, but both Michael Olise and Luis Diaz narrowly missed the target.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer kept the German side in the game, palming Joao Neves’ header wide in the 33rd minute of the match. PSG’s goalkeeper also made a stunning save and stopped Jamal Musiala’s low shot from close range just a minute before halftime.
The hosts needed two goals to level the score and take the match into extra time, but the French side found more space after the interval and went close to scoring through Desire Doue and Kvaratskhelia late in the game.
Bayern Munich’s leading goal scorer, Harry Kane, found just enough space to net the equaliser in stoppage time. But his 55th goal across all competitions this season for the hosts came too late as Bayern ran out of time to net the equaliser and PSG advanced to the final.
