Coleen Nolan made a startling revelation during the latest instalment of Loose Women.

During Monday's (May 6) episode of the ITV daytime programme, Coleen returned to screens alongside fellow panellists Janet Street-Porter, Gloria Hunniford and Kaye Adams as they discussed their views on the week's most talked-about topics.

However, one particular segment left everyone taken aback as the panel debated whether women face harsher judgement than men regarding infidelity.

Coleen, 61, seized the moment to discuss her personal life, revealing that she had been unfaithful during a previous marriage, though she emphasised feeling "vulnerable" at the time, reports The Mirror.

Speaking candidly, Coleen said: "I had an affair when I was married, and I would never condone it. I don't really want to make excuses for it but mine was very different to his [Coleen's ex].

"Although I tried to stand out and be great and the perfect wife, I was getting ignored. You know, I was just the mother of the children.

"I never set out to have an affair but then I met this guy, who all of a sudden showered me with attention and was like 'you're so attractive, you're so gorgeous'."

She continued: "And, of course, I was vulnerable at that point and I fell for it - it was like four or five weeks and I hated myself for it. When I thought about it, I thought, I'm doing this because I want this off my actual husband.

"When he found out, the heartbreak was horrendous but it actually, for the next couple of years probably made our marriage stronger because he realised that he had absolutely just ignored me."

The TV star added: "I realised that I definitely didn't want anyone else at that point. So mine was very based on this emotional neglect."

Coleen has experienced a turbulent personal life. She has been married and divorced on two occasions, firstly to EastEnders actor Shane Richie and subsequently to musician Ray Fensome. She parted ways with her most recent partner, supermarket logistics manager Michael Jones, in 2024.

Despite Coleen's past romantic disappointments, she has not given up on discovering her ideal partner, as she is currently appearing on E4's hit show Celebs Go Dating.

During a recent episode, the 61-year-old embarked on her first date with a gentleman named Neil, though it proved unsuccessful as Coleen described Neil as "a really nice man" but confessed she didn't feel "any connection or attraction" to him.
