Udaipur: Veteran Tamil film producer RB Choudary passed away in a car accident that occurred in Udaipur on Tuesday. He was the father of actor Jiiva.
His mortal remains are expected to be brought to Chennai on Wednesday. Several film personalities, including Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, expressed their condolences.
RB Choudary had an extensive career across multiple film industries, primarily in Tamil and Telugu cinema, with contributions to Malayalam and Hindi films as well. He was the founder of Super Good Films.
Born into a Rajasthani family, Choudary initially worked in the steel, export, and jewellery businesses before entering the film industry. He began his career as a producer in Malayalam cinema, producing films under the “Super” banner.
In 1989, he entered the Tamil film industry and later partnered with R Mohan, known for manufacturing Good Night mosquito mats, to produce films. After parting ways, Choudary adopted the name “Super Good Films” for his production house.
He was married to Mahjabeen, a Tamilian, and is survived by four sons. His son Suresh is involved in film production under Super Good Films, Jeevan is an entrepreneur running a steel company, Jithan Ramesh is an actor and producer, and his youngest son Jiiva is a well-known actor.
