A high-level review meeting was held at the Delhi Secretariat to assess preparations for two major international events scheduled to take place in the city in 2026—the 4th India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV) and the 1st International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta and brought together senior officials from multiple departments involved in event planning and execution.

During the discussions, officials presented updates on logistical arrangements, inter-departmental coordination, and infrastructure readiness to accommodate international delegates expected to attend the summits. The focus of the review was to ensure that planning aligns with the scale and international profile of the events, which are likely to draw representatives from various countries and organizations.

A key point of emphasis was the establishment of a 24×7 control room to monitor arrangements in real time. Authorities were also directed to appoint nodal officers across departments to streamline coordination and ensure quick response mechanisms during the events. The use of real-time monitoring systems was highlighted as an important tool for maintaining efficiency and addressing operational issues promptly.

In addition to event-specific planning, the meeting also reviewed broader civic preparedness across the capital. Instructions were issued to improve cleanliness standards in public spaces, particularly in markets and areas frequented by visitors. Attention was also given to the upkeep of tourist sites, with an aim to ensure better visitor experience and improved urban presentation during the international gatherings.

Security arrangements, traffic management, and crowd regulation were also discussed as part of the broader planning framework. Officials were advised to work in coordination with relevant agencies to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth movement across key locations.

The upcoming summits are expected to bring diplomatic, conservation, and policy-focused discussions to the city, with the IBCA Summit specifically centered on wildlife conservation cooperation. Further coordination meetings are expected as preparations progress toward the scheduled dates.
