'You Are a Magician' SRK Calls Sunil Narine 'Family'; Shows KKR Is More Than Just a Team

KKR co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has come out in praise of Sunil Narine. Narine became the 1st foreigner and 3rd bowler to take 200 IPL wickets. He achieved the feat in Match 46 vs SRH in IPL 2026. SRK hailed him as a ‘magician’ and called him ‘family’.

Sunil Narine a Three-Time IPL Winner

Narine has been with KKR since 2012 and played a key role in the three IPL titles won by the franchise. KKR won in 2012, 2014 and 2024. Narine is one of three players to have taken a hat-trick and hit a 100 in the IPL.

In the game vs SRH, Narine took 2/31 to help KKR win their 3rd straight game. KKR took seven matches to register their first victory in IPL 2026 but now they are slowly but surely finding their feat. They won by four wickets vs RR, via Super Over vs LSG and by seven wickets vs SRH.

Sunil Narine’s IPL Numbers

In 197 IPL games, Narine has 201 wickets with best figures of 5/19, an economy rate of 6.79, an average of 25.53 plus a strike rate of 22.50. With the bat, he has made 1820 runs in 126 innings with 22 not outs at an average of 17.50 plus strike rate of 165.30. The 37-year-old has hit one 100 and seven 50s with a top score of 109.

KKR are currently in eighth place on the points table with three wins, five losses and one no-result. They have seven points under their belt with five games left. Their next match is vs DC on May 8. All four Playoffs spots are open with all 10 teams in contention with 24 games left to play in the league phase. By May 24, we shall know the top four teams and on May 31 the winners will be crowned.
