Rangasamy retains stronghold

Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who is contesting from two constituencies, is on course to retain his Thattanchavady seat. He is leading by 4,441 votes after the final round of counting, securing 10,024 votes.

His nearest rival, E Vinayakam, has polled 5,583 votes, while Congress leader V Vaithilingam is trailing behind. The margin is seen as decisive in the constituency, which was closely watched.

AINRC candidates are leading in several seats including Muthialpet, Ariankuppam, Embalam, Nettapakkam and Karaikal North, indicating a strong showing for the ruling party.

BJP candidates A Namassivayam and T K S M Meenatchisundaram are ahead in Mannadipet and Neravy T R Pattinam constituencies respectively.
