More rain in Delhi

According to the IMD forecast, Delhi is likely to witness light rainfall and gusty winds on Monday and Tuesday with the weather office issuing a yellow alert for the capital. For Monday, the IMD has warned of light rain and winds that may reach up to 70 km/hr. No alert has been issued for Tuesday, though light rain and winds up to 40 km/hr are expected.

“There has been a fall in maximum temperature by 2-3°C in the past 24 hours. The city is likely to receive at least two spells of rain on Monday — one between morning and forenoon and another in the afternoon or evening. There is a possibility of very light rain on Tuesday,” an IMD official was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Delhi temperature today

In Delhi, the maximum temperature is likely to remain between 32-34°C on Monday and 31-33°C on Tuesday due to cloud cover and rainfall. The temperature is likely to increase gradually from Wednesday, touching around 40°C by May 9. The minimum temperature on Sunday was 24.6°C, near normal and is likely to be between 23-25°C on Monday and 22-24°C on Tuesday.

A red alert was issued for Delhi on Sunday evening with IMD forecasting severe thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hailstorms, dust storms and moderate rainfall, along with gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 80 kmph.

The IMD said a "red" alert has been issued for Outer North Delhi, Northwest Delhi, West Delhi, Southwest Delhi, parts of North Delhi, Central Delhi, Northeast Delhi and Shahdara, while South Delhi, Southeast Delhi and parts of North Delhi remain under an "orange" alert. Similar thunderstorm conditions are also likely at isolated places across various locations in Delhi-NCR.

Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad weather

For Monday and Tuesday, Noida is likely to see partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. After May 6, the skies in Noida are likely to remain clear.
