Lucknow. The weather in Uttar Pradesh is about to take a turn once again. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of severe thunderstorm and rain in many parts of the state from May 4 to May 7. During this period, there is a possibility of strong winds accompanied by thunder and heavy rain in many areas.

In view of the situation, the Meteorological Department has issued both Orange and Yellow alerts, advising people to remain alert. The special thing is that this time the direction of the winds and their effect are also showing monsoon-like conditions.

Weather changed due to western disturbance

According to weather experts, a strong western disturbance active from North Pakistan is the main reason for this change. This system is affecting many states of North India and its impact can be seen the most in Uttar Pradesh.

South-eastern winds are already active in the state, whose speed is reaching 30 kilometers per hour at many places. Due to these winds, moisture in the atmosphere has increased, creating conditions for cloud formation and rain. Meteorologists say that due to these winds, rain and storm with intense thunder and lightning can be seen at some places.

Pre-monsoon like conditions

At present, the easterly winds are bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal, creating a pre-monsoon like situation. When these winds collide with western disturbances, dense clouds are formed and it rains along with thunder. For this reason, there is a possibility of sudden weather change and heavy rain in many parts of the state.

A word of caution though

The Meteorological Department has advised farmers and common people to exercise caution in view of the changing weather patterns. Crops and loose goods need to be kept in a safe place to avoid damage due to strong winds and rain.
