New Delhi: Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohammed Siraj decimated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) top order with the new ball in the clash between the two sides at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, in the IPL 2026 on Sunday. Siraj picked up two wickets in two balls in his very first over, dismissing Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly on consecutive deliveries.
Siraj opened the proceedings for the Gujarat Titans after they won the toss and opted to bowl first against the table-toppers, the Punjab Kings, at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The pacer delivered straightaway as he went on to dismiss the dangerous Priyansh on the second ball of the first over.
After the left-hander was dropped by Jos Buttler on the first ball, Nishant Sindhu plucked a brilliant catch to help Siraj get his wicket on the next ball. Priyansh slashed a shortish delivery from Siraj in the air, and Sindhu pulled off a sensational diving catch at backward mid-off to get rid of the left-hander on 2 off 2 balls.
Siraj struck again on the next ball to dismiss new batter Cooper Connolly on a Golden Duck. Connolly, who has been in fine form in his debut season for PBKS, edged one to wicket-keeper Jos Buttler to get sent packing without managing to open his account. The left-hander went for a review, but a thin edge off his bat led to his dismissal as Siraj got two wickets in two balls.

Gujarat Titans bowlers ran riot against the Punjab Kings to reduce them to 47/5 inside nine overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium. After twin strikes from Siraj in the first over, Jason Holder and Kagiso Rabada joined hands to run through the PBKS top and middle order, leaving them in a spot of bother.
Rabada dismissed in-form opener Prabhsimran Singh cheaply on 15 before Holder removed Nehal Wadhera on a duck and PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer on 19 off 21 in quick succession to reduce the visitors to tatters. GT will be looking to skittle out the Punjab Kings for a low-key total to continue their winning run in the IPL 2026.
