Robert Hardman, who was invited to the White House recently to mark the launch of his new book about Queen Elizabeth II as King Charles III, has lifted the lid on his encounter with Donald Trump. Appearing on GB News to be interviewed by Camilla Tominey earlier today, the royal author revealed what Trump told him about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during the US State Visit, which took place last week and lasted for four days. Reflecting on his interaction with the US leader, Hardam claimed: "We talked about the book, and we talked about the visit. He was very pleased with how it had gone, and he talked about how the King was a great guy.

"He's a passionate royalist, and he is a huge anglophile as he is half British. He talked about Prince William and said, 'He is going to be a great king, right?' He was very enthusiastic about the Princess of Wales."

Allegedly, Trump asked Hardman if Harry would be able to make a "comeback", to which the royal author said: "I said I don't think in present form that is likely, and he went, 'Boy, that wife of his,' and then proceeded to say the Duchess of Sussex, 'What she has done to that guy' and rolled his eyes."

He added: "It was the fact I think he felt the Sussexes had thrown it all away. But he was in very upbeat form about the visit."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their roles as senior royals in January 2020 to start a new life together in California.

GB News viewers were quick to comment on the author's claims, with one writing on X: "A lot of opinions, but the real story is probably more complicated than one quote."

Another added: "It is good to know the President of the United States of America is a cheap gossip."
