Recently, fans were left worried after Zayn Malik revealed photos of himself in a hospital gown. While at the time he did not reveal many details, his family has recently spoken out about the matter, thanking fans for all of their love and support. Now, new reports have revealed that the famed singer has officially cancelled all of the U.S. shows for his upcoming tour.
Here is what we know about the matter.
Zayn Malik cancels the U.S. leg of the tourOn April 17, Malik released his latest album, ‘Konnakol.’ Following this, it was revealed that he would soon be going on tour to promote the album. However, as per a new social media update from the singer, the shows for the ‘Konnakol’ tour have been scrapped for the most part.
Earlier on, the tour was set to have at least 32 tour dates. Now, as the U.S. tour leg has been cancelled, he will allegedly perform only 9 shows as part of his tour. In his post, he wrote that he was apologetic towards his fans who had been looking forward to seeing him perform on stage.
He mentioned, “I've been at home recovering, and I'm doing well and will be better and stronger than before. I've had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour .” Further on, he cited that he still wanted to get on the road and perform as much as he could for his fans.
The tour was set to begin on May 12; however, it will now kick off on May 23 in London.
Zayn Malik’s health update and family’s official statementLast month, Malik was hospitalized because of an unrevealed illness and shared the update on his social media. Now, weeks later, his family also issued a statement thanking fans for their love and support. Sasha Malik, his sister, posted an update on her social media, which read, “We're so grateful for everyone who has reached out to send bouquets! Logistically, it just simply can't work, but we appreciate you all so much. Please donate anything you'd like on Zayn's behalf to The Palestine Project!”
At the time of writing, there have been no clarifications made by the singer or his family about what he has been dealing with.
