Maharashtra 1 Trillion Economy Goal : After the elixir of independence, now the country is moving towards Developed India 2047. Maharashtra’s contribution in this is incomparable, and in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concept of 5 trillion dollars, Maharashtra will have a share of ‘1 trillion dollars’ in the economy. Governor Jishnu Dev Verma expressed the belief that the vision document ‘Viksit Maharashtra 2047’ prepared by the state government will take the state to a new peak of progress. Governor Jishnu Dev Verma appealed to make an inclusive, advanced and developed Maharashtra by ensuring the active participation of every section of the society.

The flag was hoisted by the Governor in a ceremony organized at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan. On this occasion, Legislative Council Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, Local People’s Representative, Chief Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal, Brihanmumbai Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, Additional Chief Secretaries of Various Government Departments, Director General of Police Sadanand Date, Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Additional Director General of Police (Administration) Madhukar Pandey, Chief Royal Etiquette Officer Dr. Rajesh Gawande, Principal Secretaries of Various Departments, Senior Government and Police Officers, senior officers of the three armed forces, senior diplomatic officers of various countries were present. Those present saluted the flag with National Anthem, National Anthem and National Anthem.

Governor Shri. Verma wished the Marathi people all over the world on Maharashtra Day and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed for the creation of a united Maharashtra. Similarly, he wished on the occasion of International Workers’ Day by mentioning that this Maharashtra was made by the sweat of workers and laborers.

Increase in investment and availability of jobs

The Governor said that Maharashtra has earned the trust of global investors. As many as 31 lakh 25 thousand crores of MoUs have been signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The state’s new industry and investment policy aims to attract investment of Rs 70.5 lakh crore, which will create 50 lakh direct jobs. Administrative speed has been increased by creating a separate ‘Foreign Direct Investment’ office in the Etiquette Department to attract foreign investors.

A global network of infrastructure

Regarding the development of infrastructure in the state, the Governor said that the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy 2026 prepared by Mitra (Maharashtra Institution for Transformation) has been approved by the state government to accelerate the development of infrastructure and services in Maharashtra. He expressed his belief that Navi Mumbai International Airport will now become the new gateway of the country. Metro Line-3 (Aqua Line), which breaks the traffic jam of Mumbai, is fully operational, and the 340 km long waterway network is being expanded in the Mumbai metropolitan region. The ‘Gishwan Bandar’ project in Palghar will be the largest project in the country, and it will create more than 12 lakh direct employment. Also, due to Khopoli-Khandala ‘missing link’, travel time will be significantly reduced.

Power to Baliraja and world record of solar energy

Stating that the government is committed to the welfare of farmers, the Governor mentioned that assistance worth Rs 15,950 crore has been directly distributed to more than one crore farmers who suffered losses due to natural calamities during Kharif. Also, assistance of Rs. 128 crore has been given to one lakh 80 thousand farmers who suffered losses during the current rabi season. Crop loan amount of Rs 50 thousand 914 crore has been disbursed till now to farmers through banks. A total of Rs 25 thousand 87 crore electricity tariff concession was given to about 45 lakh agricultural pumps of up to seven and a half horse power capacity under the Chief Minister Baliraja Free Power Scheme. With the record of 45 thousand 911 solar pumps installed in October-November 2025 recorded in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’, Maharashtra is leading the country in sustainable energy.

‘NASA’ opportunity for youth power

The Governor said that under ‘Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Vigyan Vari’, excellent students will get an opportunity to visit renowned institutes like ‘ISRO’ and ‘NASA’ in America. This will connect students in rural areas of the state with world-class technology.

Water prosperity through river linking projects

Surplus water from the Gosikhurd project is proposed to be diverted to the Nalganga project in Buldhana district through an interlinking canal. 8 districts of Vidarbha will get the benefit of irrigation through this canal.

Facilitation of services and recruitment process

These services are being simplified to provide services to the citizens of the state in an easy and simple manner. 18 services like residence proofs, income proofs etc. which are most used by the citizens have been simplified.

It has been decided to streamline the examinations to make the selection process transparent for government posts. About 50 thousand posts will be filled through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission and about 20 thousand posts through other state government agencies by implementing the new recruitment process. Appun Setu initiative will be started to provide employment opportunities in public and private sector to the candidates who are not recommended for final selection in Public Service Commission examinations. ‘Sadhana Week’ was celebrated by the Central Government in association with Capacity Development Commission and Karmayogi Bharat. The Governor mentioned that more than 10 lakh government employees of the state participated in this.

Lakhpati Didi and Social Security

Referring to women’s empowerment, the Governor said, due to the ‘Umaid’ campaign, 40 lakh women have become ‘Lakhpati Didi’ in Maharashtra, whose number will soon increase to 50 lakh. More than 64 lakh families have been provided with bank loans worth more than Rs 48 thousand crores through this campaign. At the end of February, more than 2 lakh individual claims and more than 8 thousand collective forest rights claims have been approved under the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers Act in the state.

A proposal has been sent to the Center to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for the promotion of the Marathi language as it has been accorded ‘Abhijat’ status. A seed capital scheme is being implemented for small business loans to individuals from tertiary sector. More than 3 lakh 74 thousand houses have been registered under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0. Out of which 1 lakh 39 thousand shelters have been approved so far.

‘My village, healthy village’ campaign

An ambitious campaign has been undertaken for the health of the citizens of the rural areas ‘Mazh Gaon, Aarogya Affon Gao’. More than one crore women have been screened under the ‘Swasth Nari Sakhat Parivar’ campaign. Menopause clinics have been started across the state.

Governor Jishnu Dev Verma mentioned that a world-class planning is being done for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela to be held in Nashik-Trimbakeshwar after 12 years, and a special authority has been established for it.

Chief Etiquette Officer Dr. Rajesh Gawande read the Marathi translation of the Governor’s speech. State Reserve Police Force, Brihanmumbai Armed Police Force, Brihanmumbai Riot Control Squad, Brihanmumbai Women’s Police Force, Mumbai Railway Police Force, Nishan Toli (Maharashtra Police Flag, Brihanmumbai Police Flag, State Reserve Police Force Flag, Maharashtra Fire Service Directorate Flag, Brihanmumbai Fire Brigade Flag), Brihanmumbai Traffic Police Force, Mumbai Fire Brigade Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Security Force, Security Guards Brihanmumbai and Thane District, Brass Band Squad, Pipe Band Squad, Women’s Pipe Band Squad, Horse Police Force, Brihanmumbai Police Force Vehicles (Women Nirbhaya Squad), Brihanmumbai Fire Brigade Vehicles participated.

The program was coordinated by Kranti Patil, Deputy Secretary of Royal Etiquette Department, Chandrakant More, Chamber Officer Raju Raut and their team.
