A major change is set to take place across all state universities in Uttar Pradesh, aimed at curbing issues such as cheating and the use of proxy candidates during examinations. Notably, the “AKTU Model” is slated for implementation in all universities throughout the state. Let us explain exactly what this model entails.
To eradicate problems such as cheating, paper leaks, and the use of proxy candidates during examinations, a significant and technology-driven transformation is about to be introduced across all state universities in Uttar Pradesh. A new model, designated as the “AKTU Model,” is now set to be implemented within the state’s universities, having already received official approval. It is worth noting that the Governor’s Secretariat has granted approval for the implementation of this model in all universities, with the exception of agricultural and medical universities. Let us now delve into what this model is and how it functions.
How the Model Works
Following the implementation of this new model, examination question papers will be transmitted directly online, and physical copies of these papers will be printed exclusively at the respective examination centers. Furthermore, the evaluation of answer sheets will also be conducted digitally within the colleges themselves. Additionally, barcodes, QR codes, and dummy numbers will be affixed to the answer sheets; this measure is designed to ensure the transparency and integrity of the sheets, providing a safeguard against instances of tampering or loss. It is also pertinent to mention that CCTV cameras and biometric attendance systems will be installed at all examination centers.
The Administration’s Claim
The administration asserts that the implementation of this new model will result in savings amounting to crores of rupees for the government. According to the administration, this new model will eliminate the costs associated with printing question papers and transporting them to various examination centers, while also saving the funds typically expended during the evaluation process. It is widely believed that this new model will prove to be a monumental step toward enhancing the transparency of examinations within Uttar Pradesh’s education sector.
