Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has ruled Delhi for 10 years, is in power in Punjab. His next target is Gujarat. Encouraged by the success in the 2022 Gujarat Assembly elections, AAP is continuously active in Gujarat. Despite not getting much success in the recent local body elections, AAP is in high spirits and its leaders are calling it their victory. The growing influence of AAP is a cause of concern for Congress and Congress is also feeling this danger. Meanwhile, AAP has intensified preparations for Gujarat Assembly elections.
Even though AAP’s victory may not seem huge in the entire state, AAP, which is working hard for its expansion in Gujarat, is seeing hope in this too. This is because in 2021 also, AAP had contested the local elections in Gujarat and a total of 69 of its candidates had won. In this regard, the number of its winning candidates is more than 650. This is the reason why AAP’s enthusiasm is high.
What is the reason for AAP’s happiness?
This time AAP has won both rural and urban bodies. AAP has received good news from Narmada district and it has got majority in Narmada District Panchayat. Apart from this, it has also won in many taluka panchayats. Chaitra Vasava is the MLA from Dediapada assembly seat of the same district and on the other seat Nandod also, AAP got good votes in the last elections.
In the area of Dediapada i.e. Chaitra Vasava, AAP has won all the 11 seats of the District Panchayat. Apart from this, he has won 10 out of 16 seats of Bagasada Taluka Panchayat of Amreli district. There are total 5 assembly seats in Amreli district. In the 2022 elections, AAP was at second position in Dhari assembly seat here. She had got 26 thousand votes in Amreli, 26 thousand votes in Lathi also and she was far behind in the other two seats. The results this time are encouraging for AAP as it seems to be getting stronger in Amreli district also.
Did AAP play games in the assembly elections?
AAP had surprised everyone in the 2022 elections in Gujarat with 182 assembly seats. The party, which had contested alone, had fielded its candidates on a total of 181 seats. He got a total of 41.12 lakh votes in Gujarat. In that election, AAP won a total of 5 seats. It got about 13 percent votes and emerged as the third largest party.
The result of this performance of AAP was that the Congress Party was ready to leave the Bharuch Lok Sabha seat for AAP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Before 2024, the Congress party had lost the election on this seat in 2019 by a margin of 3.3 lakh votes and in 2014 by a margin of about 1.5 lakh votes. AAP’s Chaitra Vasava also lost the election from this seat but he got 5.22 lakh votes and his defeat margin was 85696 votes.
Who was ahead in the civic elections?
This time BJP has been at the forefront in the civic elections. BJP has won in all 15 municipal bodies. At the same time, BJP has won in 33 out of 34 district panchayats. Apart from BJP, AAP has won in one district panchayat.
