Baking is an excellent way to occupy your time, and with a straightforward recipe, you'll be savouring a delicious treat before you know it. To create the ideal molten centre in your muffin, baker Jane Dunn, better known as Jane's Patisserie, has shared a delectable recipe that's packed with flavour.

In a recent TikTok video, Jane revealed that the secret to her molten centre lies in filling the batter with freshly chopped cherries and a generous dollop of cherry jam. Jane wrote in the video's caption: "This flavour combo is one that I am just obsessed with, and so you'll find lots of Black Forest recipes on my blog including brownies, cakes, cookies and ice cream! I decided it was time to add some muffins to the mix and these are just irresistible.

"Gooey, chocolatey and I hope you love them as much as I do!"

Not only is Jane's recipe loaded with luxurious dark chocolate, but she also incorporates a generous helping of fresh cherries - plus some cherry conserve for an unexpected fruity centre. This creates a gloriously gooey middle when you take a bite of the muffin, reports The Mirror.

Jane said: "These Black Forest chocolate and cherry muffins are perfect when served warm, gooey and molten in the middle. They are delicious, they are easy to bake, and I know you're going to love this recipe as much as I do because if you're a Black Forest fan like me, these are solid ten out of ten.

"This recipe is super easy to make as it is an oil-based recipe which means you can whack everything in a bowl, whisk all the liquids together, add your dry ingredients, and you have an out of this world muffin mixture ready to go."

To achieve the perfect rise on the muffin, Jane opts for tulip cases rather than standard muffin cases. She went on to explain: "The cherry jam creates this lovely texture in the middle and helps sort of flatten the top of the muffins once baked, but it doesn't really matter if there are little tiny craters in it, because I love to decorating these by pressing in a fresh cherry and a chunk of chocolate."

Jane's video has already clocked up over 37,500 views, garnering 1,127 likes and 12 comments at the time of writing. Murelle wrote: "These look yummy."

Ashys commented: "Ahhh these look absolute gorg."

Bluemoon agreed: "They look absolutely yummy."

So if you fancy putting a distinctive spin on a classic chocolate muffin, here's how to recreate Jane's recipe in your own kitchen.
