In a significant move for India’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, ChargeZone and Tata.ev have inaugurated a new co-branded mega charging station in Khalapur, Maharashtra. Situated at a popular food mall along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, this high-capacity hub is set to become a vital pitstop for EV owners tackling one of the country's busiest intercity routes.
High-Speed Power for the HighwayThe Khalapur facility is designed to eliminate "range anxiety" for long-distance travelers. With a massive total capacity of 720 kW, the station is engineered for speed and efficiency:
-
10 Charging Points: The hub features five dispensers capable of charging 10 electric vehicles simultaneously, drastically reducing the likelihood of queues.
-
Ultra-Fast "Boost Mode": Advanced technology at the site supports ultra-fast charging speeds of up to 360 kW, allowing compatible vehicles to regain significant range in just a few minutes.
Kartikeya Hariani, Founder and CEO of ChargeZone, highlighted that robust highway charging is the "backbone" of the EV revolution, noting that this 720 kW installation sets a new benchmark for the nation’s infrastructure.
A Nationwide Expansion StrategyThis launch represents the 75th collaboration between ChargeZone and Tata.ev. The two companies are on a mission to install over 100 similar mega hubs across India’s national highways. By placing these hubs at convenient locations like food malls, the partnership ensures that charging fits seamlessly into the natural rhythm of a road trip.
Exclusive Perks for Tata.ev OwnersOwners of Tata Motors’ electric lineup—including the Nexon.ev, Punch.ev, Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, and the latest Curvv.ev and Harrier.ev—stand to benefit the most. Tata.ev customers are eligible for exclusive discounts of up to 25% when using this new facility.
Vivek Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata.ev, confirmed that with over 200 such hubs already operational nationwide, the company is committed to building a fast, reliable, and accessible network that supports the growing community of EV drivers in India.
