New Delhi: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has released the results for the Class X and Class XII examinations for 2026, showcasing impressive overall pass rates of 99.18% and 99.13%, respectively.
A total of 258,721 students participated in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) for Class X, while 103,316 candidates sat for the Indian School Certificate (ISC) for Class XII.
In both examinations, female students outperformed their male counterparts.
For the ICSE, girls achieved a pass rate of 99.46%, surpassing boys who recorded 98.93%. In the ISC, girls had a pass percentage of 99.48%, compared to boys at 98.81%.
Out of the candidates who took the ICSE, 256,590 passed, while 2,131 did not succeed. In the ISC, 102,414 students qualified, leaving 902 without a passing grade.
Breaking down the results by category, general category students in ICSE had a pass rate of 99.26%, followed closely by Other Backward Classes at 99.24%, Scheduled Tribes at 98.07%, and Scheduled Castes at 98.76%.
In the ISC, general category students achieved a pass rate of 99.17%, with Other Backward Classes at 99.12%, Scheduled Castes at 98.77%, and Scheduled Tribes at 98.84%.
The examinations covered 67 subjects for ICSE and 45 subjects for ISC.
