The actor shared filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is currently working on 3 Idiots 2, with the story set to revisit its much-loved characters after a gap of nearly 10 years. The update has reignited excitement around the film, which continues to hold a strong place in popular culture. Known for its take on education, friendship and personal choice, 3 Idiots remains widely watched even years after its release.
With the sequel now in progress, attention has turned to how the story will move forward and what lies ahead for protagonists Rancho, Farhan and Raju. “Raju is working on 3 Idiots 2 right now. I’ve heard the story, and it’s wonderful.” Aamir Khan shared this update in an interview with Amar Ujala, confirming that Rajkumar Hirani has begun work on the sequel. He added that the script is still being developed but already stands out for its fresh idea.
“It’s unusual, with the same humour as the first film, and follows the characters 10 years later,” he said, indicating that the sequel will continue the journey of Rancho, Farhan and Raju in a new phase of life.

Meanwhile, Aamir is currently promoting his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming film Ek Din, which stars Sai Pallavi and is set to release on May 1.
