Once again Virat Kohli lived up to his reputation as the epitomes of consistency in the Indian Premier League with his latest milestone against Delhi Capitals in their last league fixture. The star batter became the first player in the history of IPL to achieve 9,000 runs and etched his name in the history books.
This landmark was reached at Arun Jaitley Stadium which adds a special flavor to his accomplishment. Kohli played an anchored yet aggressive knock in the chase and remained at the crease till the end finishing off the match with consecutive sixes to show that the match-winner remains and what he can deliver to the side even at this point of his career.
Irfan Pathan hailed the milestone achieved by the former India all-rounder as he said:
"Only Virat Kohli can challenge Virat Kohli and why wouldn't it be a step forward towards the destination from the Mount Everest of 9000 runs in IPL".

Kohli's consistency propelling the RCB campaign
Kohli's IPL journey is all about consistent performances over the years and with 9,000 plus runs still he stays way ahead of all the batter who have played in the league till now. His feat includes 8 centuries and numerous half-centuries in his IPL career which tells us the story of him adapting to all the different match conditions and performing consistently throughout.
This season has also been a great one for the star batsman as he continues to be among the top contenders for the orange cap with his balanced batting as he combines aggressive hitting along with smart leaving which makes a world of difference for Royal Challengers Bangalore in their tournament campaign.
This win against the Delhi Capitals was a good collective performance. The bowlers bowled extremely well and put a brake on the opposition and then the batsmen finished the job without any trouble thanks to the performances from the top order batsmen.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have now recorded their sixth victory of the campaign in eight games and they look like the most complete side in the competition with the team balanced perfectly on both batting and bowling. The consistency has returned and there has been a massive contribution in terms of a good all-round display, and there is no surprise in that there is the former India captain who leads them from the front. As he mentioned this might be just another stepping stone in his already illustrious journey.
