A new Guinness World Records milestone has been set in London, where a team of 100 Italian chefs created the world’s longest tiramisu, stretching an impressive 440.6 meters.

The record-breaking dessert was crafted over the weekend at Chelsea Town Hall as a tribute to King Charles III, CNN reported.

As per Guinness World Record rules, the record-breaking tiramisu was made and assembled live on site, and used 50,000 ladyfinger biscuits and more than 3,000 eggs, BBC reported.

The tiramisu had to form a continuous, unbroken structure, which they achieved by connecting individual sections into a U-shaped “cake string” exceeding 440 meters.

Judges officially confirmed the record on April 26, noting it met requirements including a minimum height of 8 cm and a width of at least 15 cm per segment.

The feat surpasses the previous record of 273.5 meters set in 2019 by Galbani Bakery in Milan.

The initiative was led by Italian chef Mirko Ricci, who had held the same title in 2017 before being overtaken two years later.

Ricci described tiramisu as “the most wonderful dessert that Italy has spread throughout the world.” The team chose to stage the attempt in the U.K. to express gratitude to the country and honor the British royal family.

The finished cake featured a golden crown motif alongside the message “Grazie Your Majesty.”

The classic tiramisu is typically made with egg yolks, mascarpone cheese, cocoa powder, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. A great tiramisu depends on high-quality coffee, a smooth, creamy texture, and a passionate baker.
