IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians all-rounder Mitchell Santner has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026 due to a shoulder injury, the franchise confirmed on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Santner initially sustained a niggle to his non-bowling shoulder while fielding against Delhi Capitals on April 4 and missed the following match. He returned to action but aggravated the injury during the game against Chennai Super Kings on April 23.
The left-arm spinner featured in four matches this season, taking five wickets.
Mumbai Indians have signed Keshav Maharaj as Santner's replacement for the rest of the tournament. Maharaj, also a left-arm spinner, brings experience to the squad with 191 wickets in 218 T20 matches.
He has previously played two IPL matches for Rajasthan Royals and has also been a regular performer in franchise leagues, including South Africa's SA20.
Mumbai Indians are currently placed ninth in the standings after a poor start to the season and will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 29.
