Ranveer Singh is being celebrated for his acting in Dhurandhar: The Revenge; however, the star shared that the role was very challenging for him. The actor, who always fully immerses himself in his roles, has portrayed several tough characters over time. Yet, he even thinks that his latest role is a greater challenge than his memorable portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat. This led to a lot of discussions as Khilji is considered to be one of the most physically and mentally demanding roles in his career.
Ranveer Singh On Working As Hamza In DhurandharRanveer is said to have remarked that his role as Hamza in Dhurandhar was more demanding than Khilji. During a conversation with the Indian Express’ Nikunj Biyani, who described his experience of seeing Ranveer’s latest by delight, the two of them talked about the actor’s character Hamza.

When he was asked if he would portray Khilji or a similar character again, he revealed that Dhurandhar was already at a higher level of difficulty. He outlined that this job calls for a much stronger emotional engagement and unwavering attention. Put simply, Ranveer disclosed that the execution of the role pushed him beyond what he was capable of in his former roles and, as a matter of fact, it demanded a lot from him as an artist. The character, he stated, was such that it required complete giving up of oneself, which left him both drained and, at the same time, wildly pleased on a creative level.
Ranveer’s prior preparation for Khilji reveals the depth of his acting commitment. For Padmaavat, the actor had confided that he secluded himself for a few weeks to wholly assimilate the character during his hiatus.
He had also disclosed his strategy to a broadcast that he distanced himself from usual social contacts and learned about the more negative elements of the character. As Khilji’s attributes were so very different from his, he had to enact from nothing. It was widely recognized, and they felt that this part was one of the best things he had ever done.
In spite of going through all that, Ranveer now agrees that his work on Dhurandhar was even more mentally and physically taxing.
