A high-profile event organized in the US capital Washington turned into chaos when a suspicious person entered with weapons. This incident, which took place at a prestigious event like the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, also raised questions about the security arrangements. A major accident was averted due to the promptness of the security personnel present at the spot, but the incident shocked everyone.

According to the information, the accused has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen, who is said to be a resident of California. He entered the venue with several weapons and tried to break the security cordon. During this, he also fired, due to which panic spread among the people present there. However, the security forces took immediate action and caught him near the ballroom, where the program was going on and President Donald Trump was also present.

Trump got angry during the interview

A few hours after the incident, President Trump gave an interview to CBS News journalist Norah O’Donnell. Initially Trump appeared calm, but as soon as the journalist mentioned the attacker’s alleged manifesto, his attitude suddenly changed. Trump became angry after hearing the things written in the manifesto and called it a conspiracy against him. Trump clearly said that he had nothing to do with those allegations. He insisted that he was innocent and the allegations against him were completely false.

Trump further said that, "I am not a rapist. I have not raped anyone." He said, “An attempt is being made to defame me. I have nothing to do with all this.” When the journalist asked the question, "Oh, do you think he was talking about you?" So Trump completely ignored his words and called the allegations “nonsense”.

Questions raised on the mental state of the attacker

Trump described the attacker as a mentally unstable person. He described him as a “fundamentalist” and “anti-Christian” and said that such people are a danger to society. Also, he expressed concern about the increasing political violence in America and blamed the alleged “hate speech” of Democratic leaders for this.

President Trump also claimed that he did not feel afraid during the firing. He said that he wanted to understand the situation, so did not come out immediately. According to him, he wanted to see for himself what was happening and was ready to rejoin the program if necessary.
